Andrew Wiggins To Reclassify To 2013

Oct 25, 2012 2:23 PM

Andrew Wiggins will reclassify as a member of the 2013 class.

Wiggins is considering Kentucky and Florida State.

Wiggins could then become eligible for the 2014 NBA Draft should he declare after his freshman season.

"It's time," Mitchell Wiggins said. "It's time for him (to show) that he is the best in college right now. I think he is ready for the next step. Academically-wise he is doing great. Maturity-wise he is doing great. He has a lot of talent. He is ready for the next step, and everybody knows it is time. It is Andrew's time. Next year is coming soon and he is ready."

Wiggins, a native of Canada, is widely considered either the first or second ranked high school player.

Oct 17, 2012 6:15 PM

Marcus Lee committed to Kentucky on Wednesday, picking John Calipari and the Wildcats over California.

Lee, the No. 28 overall prospect in the Class of 2013, becomes the fourth top-30 recruit to commit to Kentucky in the past 14 days, joining twins Andrew (No. 2 overall recruit in the ESPN 100) and Aaron Harrison (No. 4) and guard James Young (No. 5).

Lee attends Deer Valley High School, which is located a short drive away from the Cal campus in Berkeley.

"Everyone made me feel like I was part of their family," Lee said. "Being far away from home, that was important. The coaches treated me like I was their son."

Andrew Harrison Draws Comparison To Derrick Rose

Oct 14, 2012 9:47 PM

Andrew Harrison’s strength and athleticism remind John Lucas of Derrick Rose.

“A bigger, little slower version of Derrick Rose, with that physical strength to get wherever he wants,” Lucas said when asked to compare Harrison to other players.

Lucas has trained Andrew, and his twin brother Aaron, since they were eighth-graders.

“They come in, for me, right behind Kobe (Bryant) and LeBron (James) as talents,” Lucas said in a phone interview last week. “… They’ve got a chance to be really good.”

Andrew and Aaron committed to Kentucky last week.
